EVALOR rings are designed for everyday wear. Like all jewelry, however, their appearance can change over time depending on the material, finish, environment, body chemistry, and how they are worn.

A few simple habits can help preserve the color, finish, structure, and character of your ring for longer. Because materials vary across the EVALOR collection, always review the individual product description alongside this guide.

Everyday Care

Wear your ring confidently, but remove it before activities that could expose it to severe impact, crushing, chemicals, or unnecessary wear.

We recommend removing your ring before:

• Weight training or heavy lifting
• Manual labor or mechanical work
• Using tools or machinery
• Contact sports
• Gardening or construction
• Swimming or entering a hot tub
• Showering or bathing
• Applying strong cleaning products

Avoid striking the ring against concrete, tile, stone, metal equipment, or other hard surfaces.

Never intentionally test a ring by dropping, bending, crushing, or striking it.

Water, Chemicals, and Personal Products

Plain water may not immediately affect every ring, but prolonged moisture can impact certain coatings, inlays, adhesives, and decorative materials.

Chlorine, saltwater, pool chemicals, cleaning products, and repeated exposure to hand sanitizer may accelerate discoloration, finish wear, fading, or deterioration.

Whenever practical:

• Apply lotion, sunscreen, cologne, oils, and hair products before putting on your ring.
• Allow products to dry before wearing the ring.
• Remove the ring before swimming or using a hot tub.
• Wipe away sweat, moisture, and residue after wear.

If your ring becomes wet, dry it completely before storing it.

Routine Cleaning

For most EVALOR rings, simple and gentle cleaning is best.

1. Use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap.
2. Wipe the ring gently with a clean, soft cloth.
3. Use a very soft brush only when necessary.
4. Remove all soap residue.
5. Dry the ring completely with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Do not soak the ring for an extended period unless the individual product instructions confirm that soaking is appropriate.

Avoid:

• Bleach or chlorine cleaners
• Toothpaste
• Baking-soda pastes
• Abrasive powders
• Scouring pads
• Rough brushes
• Metal-polishing compounds
• Household disinfectants
• Industrial cleaners
• Unapproved chemical jewelry dips

These products can scratch the surface, change the finish, damage a coating, discolor the metal, or affect an inlay.

Ultrasonic and steam cleaners should not be used unless the individual product instructions specifically confirm compatibility.

Care by Finish

Polished Surfaces

Polished metal may show fine scratches more visibly than brushed or matte finishes. Clean it with a soft microfiber cloth and avoid aggressive polishing.

Brushed and Matte Surfaces

Brushed and matte finishes may gradually develop smoother or shinier contact points through normal wear.

Do not use polishing compounds, as they can alter the intended texture. When possible, wipe brushed surfaces gently in the direction of the visible grain.

Textured and Patterned Surfaces

Residue may collect inside grooves and recessed areas. Use mild soap, a soft cloth, and a very soft brush when necessary.

Do not use abrasive tools to deepen, reshape, or restore the pattern.

PVD and Plated Finishes

Some EVALOR rings use PVD coating, plating, or another applied finish to create gold-tone, black, rose-gold, or contrasting details.

Applied finishes are not permanently scratch-proof or fade-proof. Friction, chemicals, and regular wear may gradually affect their appearance.

To preserve the finish:

• Avoid abrasive surfaces
• Minimize repeated exposure to hand sanitizer
• Keep the ring away from chlorine and harsh chemicals
• Wipe away sweat and residue after wear
• Store it separately from harder objects

Specialty Materials and Inlays

Rings containing metallic foil, carbon fiber, stone, shell, wood, meteorite, or other decorative inlays require additional care.

Protect these materials from:

• Severe impact
• Extended soaking
• Extreme heat
• Harsh chemicals
• Abrasive cleaning
• Sudden temperature changes
• Scraping or picking around the edges

If an inlay appears loose, lifted, cracked, or separated, stop wearing the ring and contact EVALOR before further damage occurs.

Tungsten carbide is highly resistant to ordinary surface scratching but can fracture under severe impact or crushing pressure. Tungsten rings generally cannot be resized through traditional jewelry methods.

Storage

When your ring is not being worn, store it:

• Inside its EVALOR box
• In a soft pouch
• In a lined jewelry compartment
• In a dry location
• Separately from other jewelry and hard objects

Do not allow the ring to rub against watches, chains, keys, coins, tools, or other rings.

Make sure it is clean and completely dry before long-term storage.

Ring Safety

Remove your ring before working around machinery, electrical systems, moving equipment, heavy tools, or anything that could catch or crush the hand.

Remove the ring promptly if your finger becomes painful, numb, swollen, discolored, or difficult to move.

Finger size can change because of temperature, exercise, hydration, swelling, weight changes, and time of day. A ring that suddenly feels too tight should be removed before swelling becomes worse.

Normal Wear

Jewelry is made to be worn. Fine scratches, scuffs, surface dulling, smoother contact points, gradual coating wear, and minor changes in texture may naturally develop over time.

These changes do not automatically indicate a defect.

Proper care helps preserve your ring, but it does not replace the protections provided under the EVALOR Limited Lifetime Warranty.

When to Contact EVALOR

Stop wearing the ring and contact us if you notice:

• Structural cracking or complete breakage
• A loose or separating inlay
• Abnormal peeling, bubbling, or flaking
• A detached component
• Sharp or unsafe edges
• A material or construction issue inconsistent with the product description
